How XSBS reads and writes data in SAP

SAP BAPI and Batch Input at your fingertips!

BAPIs are standard and public doors proposed by SAP, to allow external systems like XSBS to use SAP data. Batch Input may also be used to automate data transformation in SAP systems, although with slower performance. BAPI  and Batch Input are good ways to pull data from, or push data to SAP – however, they are both technical things which requires developer skills.

XSBS brings you the best of the 2 methods, in a simplified yet totally flexible environment, where you can focus on your business objectives – while making sure your SAP systems are fully used and fed with the most up-to-date data.

Using BAPI Method between SAP and Excel

BAPIs in SAP

With XSBS you can call any BAPI in any SAP systems (S4, ECC, SCM, BW, HANA …) without any limitations. All of our standard XSBS Applications or Customer specific ones, communicate with SAP systems via BAPI to ensure performance. By using XSBS, you can seamlessly collect data from SAP into the XSBS In-Memory data placeholder and then use then in MS Excel, at a very high speed, Still with the very same security features as if you would connect to the standard SAP user interface.

You do not need to bother about which BAPIs are best to use for your requirements, we help you deciding which one best apply, in particular if your internal experts / IT department use XSBS STUDIO to develop your own XSBS Application. XSBS proposes a dedicated wizard to simplify BAPI management – discover the available BAPI and easily control what parameters are relevant to your development.

Calling a BAPI is already a good and performant way to collect or post data between Excel and SAP, however XSBS pushed the limits to allow you automatic multiple calls of any BAPI, without any programming! XSBS STUDIO allows you to create your own CUSTOM BAPI, locally to XSBS, so as to ease BAPI utilization in your development

Using Batch Input method to drive SAP from Excel

Since ever, all SAP solutions propose Batch Input method to upload data and transactions in mass. This method is simply an automation by scripting of what a user would do in SAP through standard transactions.

XSBS Application can use this method to upload long lists of records, or transaction data,  quickly and safely into SAP. Security levels are as if you would do the job manually in SAP transactions.

You can perform mass maintenance of master data (products, customers, vendors, ...) or transactions (purchase requisitions, sales orders, production orders, finance postings, …) in a few clicks. With its In-Memory data place holder, XSBS execution performances are outstanding, with a high processing pace (Records/Seconds). You can practice this method straight from the beginning by using our standard XSBS Application ADA, (Application Data Automation) that can handle most generic mass data requirements.

In addition to standard SAP Batch Input, XSBS proposes enhancement like, indexing, keys, loops and conditions to allow even more powerful Batch Input Script in your applications. XSBS-STUDIO includes an application generator which will record SAP transaction, and setup Excel worksheet layout, to become your solutions of Data Automation.
